Review: Victor Auraspeed 90K Metallic

Fast as a rocket, and almost as forgiving

The Victor Auraspeed 90K Metallic is a phenomenal racket – but not for everyone.
It's lightning fast, brutally precise, and stiff enough to make other top-tier frames feel like linguine.

With Anders Antonsen as its poster boy, and tech acronyms like WES 2.0, Rebound Shield, and Metallic Carbon Fiber jammed under the hood, this is less of a racket and more of a guided weapon system.

It's designed for players who know exactly what they're doing. Anders clearly does. You? Well… we'll see.

The Boring Facts

Flexibility: Extra stiff

Balance: Even balance

Grib size: G5

En smule anderledes end Yonex' standard, men stadig komfortabel for de fleste. Ikke meget at rafle om her. Kræver måske et ekstra greb hvis du har lidt store hænder (som mig!!)

Shaft: WES 2.0, Rebound Shield, FREE CORE, Metallic Carbon Fiber, Dynamic Sword

Player profile: For advanced to elite players with razor-sharp timing and reflexes that make cats feel slow. Absolutely not for beginners – or for anyone who describes their playing style as "relaxed."

First impression & Design

The design is... unique. Let's just start there; Black, white and turquoise swirl together in a look that says: "I'm here to win – and I'm not afraid to be seen doing it."

There's even a honeycomb pattern near the frame's base, for that extra touch of "science meets style meets possibly too much caffeine."

It's bold. It's divisive. It's basically the badminton equivalent of wearing a kilt to a board meeting: not for everyone, but impossible to ignore.

One thing's for sure – this racket isn't designed to live quietly at the bottom of your bag.
It looks like it expects to win. And probably judge you if you don't.

Control & Precision

When your technique is on point, the precision is almost surgical – the kind of cold, mechanical efficiency that would make a German engineer shed a single tear of approval.

Drives, blocks, counters all feel razor-sharp! And in defence, the 90K Metallic truly shines. Fast, firm, and unforgiving. Just the way it likes it.

But be warned: this racket doesn't offer assistance. It doesn't compensate. It doesn't care. If your timing's off, you won't just miss – you'll suffer. Not your opponent. You.

This is control on the condition that you actually deserve it.

Power & Smash

Surprisingly powerful – especially for a racket that doesn't carry much weight in the head.
Thanks to WES 2.0 (a technology that sounds like it should come with a seatbelt), you get a decent whip effect from the shaft.

But – and this is important – you still have to do the work. If you don't bring the speed, this racket won't bring the boom. In fact, for the average mortal, it can feel like trying to launch a rocket… with a matchstick. Looks dramatic. Sounds promising. Nothing happens.

Get the timing right, and it's explosive. Get it wrong, and the shuttle politely flops into the net while the racket wonders why it bothers showing up.

Maneuverability & Feel

The 90K Metallic shines here – like an overachieving hair product in a budget supermarket. Lightning fast in drives, netplay and counterattacks. It reacts like a nervous cat in a thunderstorm – and I mean that in the best possible way.

If you can keep up, it's fantastic. If not… well, let's just say you'll know.

But when it comes to touch shots – net drops, delicate blocks, soft stops – things get a little strange. The feel is… distant. Vague. Slightly robotic.

It's a hard racket, and it reminds you of that every time you try to get emotional at the net.
This one doesn't do cuddles. Only combat.

Conclusion: A racket with a license to punish

The Victor Auraspeed 90K Metallic isn't a racket – it's a test. It challenges you, it punishes you, and it demands your absolute best. But meet it on its terms, and it rewards you with surgical precision, explosive speed, and total control in high-paced play.

Just don't expect it to grow with you. This is not a mentoring racket. This is a final exam – and if you're not ready, it won't hesitate to make you look very, very average.
